New Old Alzheimer’s Drug
A new Alzheimer’s drug was recently discovered, about 100 years ago. Rember a drug that has been around for over 100 years, has recently been linked to treating Alzheimer’s Disease.
Rember targets a protein, tau, which builds up inside dying neurons. It has been suggested that this new Alzheimer’s drug could be twice as effective as the best Alzheimer’s drug on the market today.
And the good things about the drug don’t stop there. Since the drug has been around for so long, companies are not able to patent it. It will be extremely cheap for everyone to get their hands on. Now I don’t think that will stop drug compaines for coming up ways of improving it. But it will be modestly priced at best.
